Wind River Canyon
Wyoming Highway 20 winds for about 12 miles along the east side of the north-flowing Wind River through the Wind River Canyon's spectacular scenery. The Burlington Railroad follows the river on the west side. Highway and railroad both run through short tunnels through the hard rock from time to time. Wyoming highway department signs along the highway name the different geological formations exposed in the canyon walls, and give their ages in millions of years.
