Michael Griske

Born and raised in Torrington, Wyo., Michael Griske received a B.S. degree from Regis College in Denver, worked for The Equitable and Knights of Columbus life insurance companies and is now retired. Hs wife, Catherine, passed away in 2015; he has a son, Ryan, and a grandson, Jasper—and has had two manuscripts published by Heritage Books, The Diaries of John Hunton and Lisa & Scott: A Tale of Love . . . and Survival.

John Hunton, initially a sutler’s clerk at Fort Laramie, later a government hay and freight contractor, cattle rancher and land commissioner kept daily diaries of his life from the mid-1870s to 1888—leaving a valid and vivid portrait of that time.
